JOTA-JOTI: Dhaka District Rover station activity ends

The formal activity of 62nd Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) & 23rd Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) ends on 19 October 2019 at the station base Graphic Arts Institute, Mohammadpur, Dhaka. Scouter Mumit Al Rashid, Assistant Professor of University of Dhaka & the Treasurer of Dhaka University Rover Scout Group was present as Scout personality in the closing session. Hence, Scouter Afroz Sarker, Assistant Commissioner (Publicity & Publication) of Dhaka District Rover was present among others. Scouter Forhad Hossain, Assistant Commissioner (Special Event) of Dhaka District Rover put a closing remark.

A glimpse of the participant’s engagement

The JOTA-JOTI station activity was declared open by Mr. Niher Ronjon Das, principal of the Graphic Arts Institute at the computer lab of the institute on October 18, 2019. Hence, Scouter Md. Omar Ali, Secretary of Dhaka District Rover, was present the occasion as chief scout personality. Scouter Sayed Md. Jahangir, Joint Secretary of Dhaka District Rover, Mr. Md. Golam Mostafa, Head of the Department of Graphic Design of GAI, and Scouter Zakir Hossain Razu were present among others. Scouter Forhad Hossain, Assistant Commissioner (Special Events) of Dhaka District Rover conducted the session.

A number of 300 Rover Scouts from different colleges, universities and open troops attended the jamboree’s Dhaka district rover station in two days.

A brief of the JOTA-JOTI activity is being shared.

The JOTA-JOTI is the largest online-based Scout activity. More than 50 million young people are engaged worldwide in the scout movement comprises of 170 member NSO of WOSM and an additional 58 countries & territories. The entire participants got an opportunity to connect them to the same event!
